Insurance Survey

This inspection is performed so that the insurance company can determine whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk. They are interested in structural integrity and safety for its intended use. Most insurance companies require a survey on older boats. They will also want to know the vessel’s fair market value.

Insurance Survey Pricing

Insurance surveys are priced at:

$28 – $45 per foot

Final pricing is determined by the following factors:

Length Overall (LOA)
Length overall includes swim platforms, engines, bow pulpits, and stern pulpits.

​

Type of Vessel
Different vessel types require varying levels of inspection and evaluation.

​

Vessel Age & Condition
Older vessels or those with deferred maintenance typically require additional inspection time compared to newer, well-maintained vessels.

​

Location of Vessel
Travel expenses may apply depending on the vessel’s location.

​

Minimum survey fee: $800
